What is Multiversus? Multiversus is an extremely easy system that allows you to create your own custom virtual world and share it with your friends, customers or everyone you want to. Anonymous visitors can even access into multiversus worlds without following registration procedures. Users even don't need to install any special software into their machines, they just need to point out their browser to the multiversus world login access page in order to access. Multiversus users are not limited to one world, they can also be teletransported to any other multiversus public world created by other people. That way multiversus could become a new way to navigate throught Internet using multiverse hyperlinks instead of browsing among classic web pages. We are not saying virtual worlds will replace classic webpages, but for sure will bring us a new level of communication facilities that will make internet navigation a more enjoyable experience. Think about creating your own world and let visitors come in to visit you!, your world or a part of it can be a true live showcase to share your ideas, projects or services with real user interaction. What do I need to create a Multiversus world? You have two options: 1/ To sign up into the Multiversus Service Network and create your virtual world for free (that will become accessible through http://yourworldname.multiversus.org) or 2/ to download and install also for free the multiversus software into your server by your own. The tools for world creation and maintenance are integrated nicely into the virtual world itself. World administrators are users that can change everything in an easy and intuitive manner, so once the server is ready, the only thing you'll need is creativity and imagination. Can I use the Multiversus Service Network to create my worlds for free? Yes if you are not creating your worlds for commercial use. We provide of 512 MB of free space and 100MB of monthly transfer for free, plus free web statistics for your world. For more resources (domains, more space, transfer, mail services, support) you have to purchase extra hosting options. Is there a list of all multiversus worlds available to visit? Yes, this list will be available when the official Multiversus service network starts. Stay connected to multiversus.org web page to get the latest information. I want to create my own space in a Multiversus virtual world. Do I need to download and install multiversus server? No, you don't have to. You can access any multiversus public world and build your own space there. But if you want to customize your own space with all administrative options, then you better prefer to get your own multiversus server. Is Multiversus intended to me? Sure, multiversus is a good tool for a wide majority of people: artists, educators, sociologists, individuals and also for business. Is Multiversus a good tool for e-learning and education? Of course. Multiversus has been created primarly with this idea in mind. Children and older people are the most forgoten audience in Internet, and we focus on them with multiversus. With multiversus we can make Internet closer to them, keep them motivated and constantly excited, empower their imagination, provide them efective and simple tools for content creation and sharing over the network. With multiversus you can specially design your e-learning projects and centralize, control and evalutate the response of your users at any time. Is it possible having a private virtual world and not allowing unknown visitors to log in? Yes. This is an option in your multiversus server configuration. What about Multiversus licencing? Multiversus is open source, and free to use it for non-commercial projects, like projects for education or for personal use. For commercial projects you will need to purchase the commercial licence (still not available). Can I create 3D virtual worlds like Second Life? If you are looking for a true 3D environment, multiversus probably won't be your best option. Current Multiversus engine in basically 2D, though implements some 3d-like functionalities and multidimensionality: this configures an hybrid model that we call the Multidimensional model. We don't plan even to convert Multiversus in a true 3D environment in future, because we don't want to see people imitating the real world with multiversus like is happening with Second Life. We would like to see people exploding their creative to build imaginary, abstract and amazing multidimensional worlds different than the real one. We think our multidimensional model will simplify and explode creativity more than the classic 3D model. Which are the software requirements? If you want to configure a multiversus server, you just need LAMP (Linux-Apache-Mysql-Php). Clients doesn't require any special software to connect, they only need to have the free flash plugin activated in their browser. What is the current development status? We are in prealpha development. You can follow the progress of our work in status.multiversus.org Is there any demo available? Yes. You can connect to our development server here and take a look of the first world that we are creating for TVLATA.ORG: tvlata.multiversus.org. You don't need to register, you just can login as visitor. When multiversus.org will officialy be released? We still don't have a date, but probably in the second quarter of 2009.
